BY LISA HAGEN - THE HILLNew York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) described his meeting with President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday as “substantive” and “candid,” saying it was an opportunity to relay the concerns and fears of New Yorkers. The New York City mayor, who’s been critical of Trump and backed Hillary Clinton for president, convened with the businessman at Trump Tower late Wednesday morning and said they met for a little over an hour. “This was a respectful meeting and a substantive meeting and a very candid meeting,” de Blasio told reporters on Wednesday following their sit-down. The Democratic mayor wouldn’t offer details about what Trump said during the meeting, and de Blasio said he expressed concern over areas where they disagree including stop-and-frisk policing methods. “Many people are afraid of things they’ve seen in Breitbart News and it suggests divisive policies.”While de Blasio said they have “substantial differences,” the New York City mayor said he and Trump agreed to continue the dialogue.
