Vice President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zone D, Comrade Chris Atsaka, has commiserated with Benue state chapter of the Correspondents’ Chapel over the demise of its member and The Guardian correspondent, Mr. Joseph Wantu. Mr. Wantu passed on, Tuesday, September 13 at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) following a brief illness. Comrade Atsaka who is in charge of Zone D paid a condolence visit to the Correspondents’ chapel Wednesday, described the death of the Guardian Correspondent as ‘unfortunate’, adding that it is ‘devastating’. He attested to the character of Wantu as a peaceful person, noting that he played the role of an elder. Responding, the Correspondents’ Chapel chairman Tor Vande Acka appreciated the vice president for the visit, noting that he was the first to do so.
