Woman dies after building collapses in Kirinyaga following heavy rainsA middle-aged woman has died after a four-storey building under construction in Karia village, Kirinyaga County, collapsed during the night following heavy rains. Police said the entire building collapsed and partially destroyed a semi-permanent house nearby where the woman was sleeping, killing her on the spot. The deceased’s two children, aged 16 and 10, who were sleeping in a separate room, survived the ordeal. The deceased, who is a widow, had sold part of the land on which the collapsed building was constructed. The body of the deceased has been taken to Kerugoya Level Four Hospital for post-mortem examination.
