Uhuru Kenyatta is the undisputed leader of Mount Kenya, Limuru III attendees insistAt the ‘Limuru III’ meeting, residents and leaders from the Mt Kenya region reaffirmed that former President Uhuru Kenyatta remains their undisputed leader. The leaders accused President William Ruto’s administration of neglecting the Mt Kenya region. Despite Kenyatta’s absence, attendees reiterated that he has been the leader of the region since the Limuru II meeting in 2012. The leaders affirmed their intention to present a presidential candidate from the region in 2027, who will inherit leadership from Kenyatta. They criticized President Ruto’s government for economically oppressing the region through punitive taxation affecting businesses and the agricultural sector.
