Nanyuki pastor accused of killing woman, to be charged with murderA pastor was on Tuesday arraigned before the High Court in Nanyuki over the murder of a woman, whose remains were only discovered recently. Justice Ndung’u directed that the accused be presented before him on February 21 this year to be formally charged with murder. The deceased was reported missing on August 18, 2018, with the family telling detectives that she was last seen with Pastor Wagiita in Nyeri Town boarding a Nanyuki-bound matatu. It is in the same compound where Gathoni and the pastor are said to have spent a night before she was reported missing. The remains of Gathoni were eventually accorded a decent burial on January 9 this year at Unjiru village, Tetu Sub-county in Nyeri County.
