MPs slam Gachagua for flying commercialThe rift between President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua played out on the floor of the House On Wednesday, June 12, as MPs censured the second in command for using a commercial flight. The lawmakers took issue with the DP’s mode of transport to Mombasa, when he took a Kenya Airways flight, saying it was bringing the country’s repute to shame. They also accuse the DP of pulling a public relations stunt and thereby demeaning his office. Nyando MP Jared Okelo (ODM) sought a statement from Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah on the “unbecoming conduct” of the DP. Nyeri Town MP Duncan Mathenge said they have suffered intimidation and blackmail as elected leaders from Nyeri County.
