NSUI's Kashmiri president plans outreach in Valley

With a Kashmiri face in its top leadership, Congress's student wing National Student's Union of India (NSUI) is reaching out to students in Kashmir's colleges to connect them with their peers and institutions in other parts of the country. NSUI's national president Fairoz Khan, who is from Kashmir, says he understands the problem of the youth very well and wants to connect with them in a better way. The problem there is students do not easily trust people in position of power. As part of its outreach, the NSUI is planning student exchange programmes and interactions with Kashmir's students. After students clashed with security forces in Pulwama Degree College in South Kashmir in April, protests across campuses have been a regular affair.
