The Afghan leadership lacked sincere intention to contain the use of its soil against Pakistan that damaged peace and security of the region, National Security Adviser (NSA) Dr Moeed Yusuf said on Friday. In a statement, Yusuf emphasised that Pakistan only stood for peace and that was why the country fenced its entire border with Afghanistan. He added that the Afghan government was urged to place a biometric system for controlled mobility between the two countries but it had refused. The regions falling to Taliban are on the other side of Afghanistan, so how Pakistan can assist that debacle,” he asked. Yusuf also defended Pakistan, saying it has done its best to facilitate the Afghan peace process in the past.
