12:01The Roosters were superb all season and they end it worthy champions. They defeated Melbourne Storm, South Sydney and Canberra Raiders in the finals with some of the finest defensive displays imaginable. They rode their luck tonight - especially with that phantom call for another set to the Raiders - but they took full advantage in the most thrilling fashion. The Raiders can hold their heads high. It surely won’t be another 25 years before they’re back on the big stage.
