The New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) set the deadline for receiving financial bids from the three companies that qualified for the 250 MW Gulf of Suez wind farm tender. Sources from the NREA told Daily News Egypt that official letters were sent to Sinfon Power, Vestas Energy, and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, inviting them to present their financial bids before 9 December. Germany’s Lahmeyer International acts as consultant for the tender, while the German government-owned KfW Bank will arrange the project’s financing worth €260m. Seven international companies have submitted their bids to establish the project. In a related context, the NREA intends to receive financial bids from the five companies that qualified for the 50 MW solar power project in Zaafrana by December.
