KUALA LUMPUR: The National Registration Department (NRD) has lodged a police report regarding a “document” being spread on social media which is purportedly meant for a “special application” for an identity card. The department, in a statement today, said no such document existed. It said it hoped the public would not be fooled by such fake news and asked people not to spread the message, which has since gone viral. There are no third parties or agents registered as representatives of NRD in any form of business. For more information regarding the department, the public is advised to refer to NRD’s official website at jpn.gov.my, call its corporate communications unit at 03-88807077 or visit the nearest office.
