The incumbent member of parliament of the constituency, Vincent Sowah Odotei was defeated by Gerald Tetteh Nyanyofio, a lecturer at the University of Professional Studies in the NPP Primaries held on Saturday. Speaking to Ghanaweb.com at the constituency after the primaries yesterday, some elated party delegates revealed that the incumbent lost because he inspired division among his party members. “Odotei is our leader but he is bringing division in our party and if we divide we can’t go forward. Some of the party officials pleaded with the candidates to put away their differences and work together to win the December 7 elections.
