NPD gets green light for Kaikōura petrol stationSUPPLIED NPD Kaikōura is scheduled to open in March 2018. Kaikōura will soon gain its third petrol station, though it will not be 24/7 as first planned. Nelson Petroleum Distributors (NPD) has been granted resource consent to open a petrol station on State Highway 1, or Beach Rd, just north of the New World supermarket. NPD Kaikōura would be a self-service model, already used at other NPD stations, where customers paid at the pump with no need for employees. In contrast to the Kaikōura site, the Redwood station would have forecourt assistance and a convenience store.
