NPA considering deals for some accused in major Eskom Kusile fraud case

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is actively considering requests for plea incentives by some of the accused in a multimillion-rand corruption case involving Kusile Power plant. Tubular Construction Projects has been accused by the NPA of offering bribes that were accepted by Eskom employees to be contracted to work on air-cooled condenser systems at three of Kusile's six generating units. "We have been approached with plea-incentive agreements by some of the accused that we are considering," said Hermione Cronje, head of the NPA's Investigating Directorate (ID).
