The Nigeria Olympic Committee will on August 5 at Asaba Delta State honour one of Nigeria’s foremost Paralympian, Monday Emoghavwe with its Distinguished Merit Award. The event, which is backed by the Delta State government, has been slated to hold at the Grand Resort Hotel and Convention Centre, Asaba. Emoghavwe, who is the president of the Nigeria Paralympic Committee, will be recognised for his tremendous contributions to the development of para-power sports and the Paralympic Movement in Nigeria. of Delta State, Monday Emoghavwe attended Aevwaeke Primary School Abraka from 1973 to 1979 and also Abraka Grammar School from 1980 to 1985. To cap it all, Emoghavwe clinched the Paralympic gold medal in powerlifting at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games.
