The National Oil Corporation (NOC) said that its fire brigades had managed to control a fire that broke out near the gas reservoirs in the Airport Road, as a result of direct shelling, on Saturday evening, saying that it had prevented a humanitarian and environmental disaster. In a statement, the NOC demanded all parties to withdraw immediately from the Airport Road area, to avoid any additional damage to the liquefied gas at Brega depot. The NOC head, Mustafa Sanallah, renewed his call for an immediate ceasefire and to stop targeting oil installations, stressing that the use of oil facilities for military purposes should come to an end.
