The DIS has issued thousands of expatriate employees who have served in some of the 11,000 registered NGOs with work permits after clearance by the board. The average would have been far lower had some two NGOs not taken a total of six months to submit required documents despite reminders. NON-ARBITRARYMr Maema’s claim that some school-going children wait for long to join Kenyan schools pending the processing of their parents’ work permits is also not plausible. Second, those renewing work permits do so long before their current terms expire. We want to assure our clients and the public that the NGOs board will ruthlessly deal with any member of staff that engages in unethical practice.
