NIWA captured a time lapse of a rainy afternoon in Auckland on November 12. A NIWA camera, mounted on the top of the SkyTower, captured a heavy shower between 12pm and 1pm on Tuesday. Sarah Williams Wild weather saw heavy hail fall in Auckland's Orewa. ​NIWA meteorologist Ben Noll said to expect similar showers to hit Auckland before the end of the day. The downpour came after heavy hail created snow-like drifts in north Auckland on Monday morning.
