NEW DELHI: Shares of NIIT Ltd advanced over 10 per cent intraday on Wednesday after the company reported 70 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 30.20 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2017 against Rs 17.80 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.Consolidated operating profit of the company jumped 30 per cent on a year-on-year basis to Rs 17.20 crore during the quarter under review. It had post EBITDA of 13.20 crore in the same period last year.Net revenue of the company jumped 51 per cent on a year-on-year basis to Rs 361.50 crore.The scrip was trading 9.52 per cent up at Rs 92.65 around 1.30 pm (IST). Shares of the company opened at Rs 84.75 and touched a high and low of Rs 94 and Rs 84.30, respectively, in trade so far. Benchmark BSE Sensex was trading 0.19 per cent, or 59 points, up at 30,641.67.For the financial year ended March 31, 2017, NIIT posted 3 per cent fall in bottomline figures at Rs 65.10 crore against Rs 67.20 crore a year ago.Shares of the company had touched their fresh 52-week high on September 20, 2016 and 52-week low of Rs 67 on November 1, 2016.
