The NHS app will offer patients the opportunity to go to a private hospitalPatients are to be offered the chance to book into a private hospital via the NHS app in a bid to cut lengthy waiting times, it has been revealed. They will be encouraged to use the app with dozens of private diagnostic centres offering check-ups for cancer and other conditions. The idea is to speed up patient care and increase NHS capacity, although one user on social media claimed this was the " first step to privatisation for the NHS". A statement from the Department of Health and Social Care said: “Cutting waiting lists is one of the Government’s top five priorities with the NHS app playing a vital role in giving patients greater control over their own care and supporting elective care recovery.
