NHS England vaccine website crashes after Over-56s told to book jab

NHS England's coronavirus vaccine website crashed this morning after people aged over 56 were told to book a jab. Those attempting to secure a slot for their first vaccine were briefly greeted with a message saying: "You cannot book coronavirus vaccination appointments at this time." Letters to 850,000 people aged 56 to 59 began landing on doorsteps from yesterday with another 850k due to land tomorrow. Across the whole of the UK, more than a million people have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, while almost 21.4 million people have had one dose. NHS England has said vaccinations are being given at more than 1,600 sites, with everyone within 10 miles of at least one.
