NHRC to probe murder in police station


more-inTaking cognisance of a murder that took place inside the Ambedkar Nagar police station on August 22, the National Human Rights Commission on Friday ordered an inquiry into the incident. Apart from media reports about the incident, the NHRC also received information about the murder from the Delhi Police as all custodial deaths are supposed to be reported to the human rights panel. Anil was allegedly killed by his neighbour Vishal with a file needle inside the police station. The two got into an argument that became violent, leading to the police taking them both to the Ambedkar Nagar police station around 1 a.m. on August 22. By 3 a.m., Anil’s family was informed that Vishal had allegedly stabbed Anil using a file needle.
