The National Green Tribunal issued stern directions to the Delhi government and other neighbouring states on Friday. The green court pulled up the Delhi government on the nitty-gritties on the implementation of various measures to curb pollution. However, the NGT also noted that the Delhi government has been taking steps in the interest of environment and public health and these were laudable. It also asked the neighbouring states to strictly prevent stubble burning, saying there were reports of large-scale residue burning from some parts. With the deadly smog blanketing Delhi and the neighbouring states, the NGT had Thursday banned construction and industrial activities and entry of trucks.
