An NGO has offered to build 100 houses in higher areas for residents of Chewele in Bura to protect them from perennial flooding from River Tana. And now, Al-Imdaad Foundation has volunteered to build 100 houses for flood victims in higher areas out of reach of floodwaters. Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the houses in Shikaadabu village, Al-Imdaad Foundation director Abdulrahman Mohamed said the houses will be ready for occupation within five months. “We will allocate these houses to the poor and the needy who cannot afford to build their own. “We are also going to make sure that those who get the houses will have a water supply.
