Fiji's National Federation Party says it will lift the minimum living wage to $5 an hour if the party is successful at this year's general election. Party leader Professor Biman Prasad said it was very difficult for people to make ends meet while on the current minimum living wage of $2.68 an hour. Even with a $5 minimum living wage people will find it difficult to survive," he said. "So to begin with, we will implement in four sectors of the economy where we believe those sectors can afford $5 minimum living wage.
