The NEET-UG exam (National Eligibility-Cum Entrance Test) was conducted on May 5, across 4,750 centers, with nearly 24 lakh candidates appearing for it. The results that were out on June 4 raised eyebrows due to discrepancies and allegations of paper leak. On June 19, the NTA declared UGC-NET 2024 exam cancelled stating that the exam’s integrity had been compromised’. Over 9 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam. Both the exams have now left lakhs of students in the lurch, triggering nationwide protests by students on the streets and the Opposition inside the Parliament.
