Three have been confirmed dead due to typhoon “Ompong,” according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) in a briefing Saturday afternoon. Office of Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad said during the NDRRMC Command Conference that two emergency responders in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) died. Earlier, a resident of Barangay Bakakeng Central in Baguio City reportedly died after the land where her house was situated collapsed due to continuous rains and winds because of Ompong.
