Following the outcry by the people, the Federal government through the NDDC moved swiftly to bring the hardship encountered by motorists on the road to an end. The road which leads motorists from the Eastern states and Delta State to Auchi, Okenne, Abuja and beyond was for a long time abandoned with commuters diverting to other routes of long distances. It was on record that heavy duty trucks conveying cement were stuck on the road due to its deplorable state. Today the story has changed as the contracting, firm ULO Consultants has completed the two-kilometre axis of the road project as specified by NDDC. According to him, the intervention was a great relief to towns in the area as well as motorists.
