Politics of Wednesday, 22 November 2017Source: mynewsgh.comNDC outspent NPP but still lost 2016 polls - Kwabena DonkorFormer Power Minister, Kwabena DonkorIn the run-up to the 2016 polls, the then ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) spent more money than New Patriotic Party (NPP) but still lost the election, former Minister of State, Dr. Kwabena Donkor has revealed. “In the last elections we outspent the NPP if it was a matter of resources”, the NDC lawmaker for Pru Constituency East in the Brong Ahafo Region disclosed. “In 2008, if you saw NPP’s rallies and all the musicians after them…… unfortunately we failed to learn”, the NDC senior member bemoaned. “In 2016, we repeated the same mistakes with big rallies and musicians”, Dr. Kwabena Donkor observed. “We lost 2016 simply because our branches were weak….we did not pay enough attention to party structures especially the branches”, he noted.
