NDC MPs voted for US military agreement – Chairman reveals


He revealed that, Members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the Committee voted for the passage of the agreement thus could not fathom the “ugly noises” being made by them on the issue. Acheampong’s reaction comes after the Minority dismissed reports on social media purporting to be the votes and proceedings of Parliament on the controversial Defense Corporation Agreement between Ghana and the USA. The posts suggest that 14 MPs from the NDC voted for the defense deal to pass while only 10 MPs from the governing NPP’s side approved same. The Defense and Interior Committee of Parliament maintained that, there is nothing in the agreement that will be detrimental to Ghana’s future. “There is nothing in the agreement which violates the laws of Ghana but the Minority is being disingenuous for cheap political points”.Hon.
