THE 96th season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) will commence on June 13 with the theme, "Rise up stronger." Vic Calvo OP, NCAA Management Committee chairman, of host Colegio de San Juan de Letran confirmed the development to The Manila Times. With this, the NCAA is set to become the first collegiate league in the country to open shop amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the limitations brought about by the nationwide health and safety protocols, the NCAA will veer away from its traditional events for the time being and will stage virtual ones for the season instead. Online chess, taekwondo and poomsae as well as skills-based events in basketball and volleyball will take center stage this season for the oldest collegiate league in the country.
