NCAA basketball player ‘unknowingly’ aided Scarborough murder, lawyer says

Alwayne Bigby “is not guilty of anything,” lawyer David Bayliss told a jury in his closing argument at the 361 University Ave. courthouse on Tuesday. The lawyer for a former NCAA basketball player accused of first-degree murder said his client couldn’t have knowingly contributed to a 2014 fatal drive-by shooting of Andrea White. “There’s no question that Mr. Bigby in fact aided Mr. Davani. They turned into a nearby housing complex in an effort to find it, but soon realized they’d gone too far and Bigby turned the vehicle around. “I would suggest to you that Mr. Davani has invented this fictitious character, Star, and simply replaced himself with that character,” Bayliss told the jury.
