The 96th season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) will commence on June 13, with the theme Rise Up Stronger in the opening ceremonies. Vic Calvo, OP of host Colegio de San Juan de Letran (CSJL) confirmed to The Manila Times the development. With this, the NCAA is set to become the first collegiate league in the country to open shop amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the limitations brought about by the pandemic, the NCAA veered away from its traditional events and will stage virtual ones this season, instead. Online chess, tae kwon do, and poomsae as well as skills-based events in basketball and volleyball will take center stage this season for the oldest collegiate league in the country.
