Strippergate Rages On in LouisvilleThe ongoing Louisville "Strippergate" major NCAA investigation was back in the news this week as the NCAA Enforcement Staff fired back at the University of Louisville's and head men's basketball coach Rick Pitino. Pitino claims that he and the university adequately monitored the men's basketball program and that any potential NCAA violations were the sole work of a rogue assistant coach. Case in point, the suspensions of former SMU head men's basketball coach Larry Brown and Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim over the past two seasons. The specific NCAA rule that covers head coach responsibility is Bylaw 11.1.1.1. The bylaw states that a head coach is presumed to be responsible for the actions of all staff members who report, directly or indirectly, to the head coach.
