Share TweetBy Jeffrey DamicogThe National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is set to conduct an investigation against officials of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and other medical facilities suspected of making bogus medical claims. NBI spokesman Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin said the Bureau will investigate “all the entities claiming refunds or reimbursements from PhilHealth.”He added this is already being done by the NBI jointly with PhilHealth. Those presented for inquest were WellMed owner Dr. Bryan Christopher Sy and the two whistleblowers, namely, former WellMed employees Liezel Aileen De Leon and Edwin Roberto. In the complaint, WellMed was able to get from Philhealth P808,600 for 27 “ghost dialysis” claims representing 280 dialysis sessions.
