Share TweetBy Jeffrey DamicogThe National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has been instructed to act on the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s report on the billion-peso illegal shipment of illegal drugs which slipped through the country concealed in magnetic lifters, said Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra Tuesday. “I have referred the Senate blue ribbon committee report on the drug smuggling incident thru magnetic lifters to the NBI for evaluation, further investigation (if necessary), and filing of the appropriate criminal complaints (if warranted),” Guevarra told reporters. The Gordon committee report tagged Acierto as the “linchpin in all these events” and who facilitated the entry of the magnetic lifters that contained billions of pesos worth of shabu, at the BOC. Lapeña was at the helm of the BOC leadership at the time the magnetic lifters were shipped to the country.
