Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Friday said the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has up to October 1 to submit its initial findings on the alleged “Red October” ouster plot against President Rodrigo Duterte. ADVERTISEMENTAccording to the DOJ chief, the NBI has already started its investigation since the Palace has received information about the supposed plan. “The probe started immediately after talks about the plot started circulating, Guevarra said. “We take this matter seriously as ‘Red October’ may actually involve commission of crimes punishable under our penal laws,” he added. /kgaRELATED STORIES:AFP links raid to ‘Red Oct,’ but NBI not on same pagePalace: NBI probe vs ‘Red October’ plotters not a ‘crackdown’ vs criticsArroyo: Believe Duterte on ‘Red October’ ouster plotADVERTISEMENTRead Next
