Share TweetBy Jeffrey DamicogThe National Bureau Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday denied that the person arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Manila last Monday is one of its agents. The NBI made the clarification following reports that a certain Virgilio Talag has been identified as an NBI agent when he got arrested along with 11 others by the PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for their involvement in extortion activities. Talag and 11 other persons were arrested during an entrapment operation in front of the NBI main office on Monday for allegedly trying to extort P11 million from businessmen. Following the arrest of Talag, the NBI warned the public against misrepresenting themselves as NBI agents or employees.
