MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II on Sunday ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct an investigation into the mall fire in Davao City. In a statement released Monday, Aguirre said he asked the NBI to identify if there was any criminal liability to the blaze which killed 37 lives. The NBI was also directed to file charges against parties deemed responsible for the incident. "We want the NBI to be involved with its own probe. "We offer our solemn condolences to the families of those persons who lost their lives in this very unfortunate incident," the justice secretary said.
