NASS leadership election: PDP’s committee probes members for defying orders – Latest News – Tribune Online


Following the failure of its members to adhere to the party’s directive to vote for Senator Ali Ndume and Umaru Bago for the Senate president and Speaker, House of Representatives, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set up a fact-finding committee on the role played by some of its members during the exercise. Recall that the party members defied the party when they voted for the All Progressive Congress (APC) preferred candidates for the positions, Senator Ahmed Lawan and Hon. Femi Gbajiabiamila, respectively, contrary to the party directives. The Committee has former President of the Senate, Senator Adolphus Wabara as Chairman while former National Secretary of the PDP, Prof. Wale Oladipo, will serve as Secretary. Other members of the committee include; Senator Ibrahim Mantu, Senator Stella Omu, Hon Austin Opara, Senator Abdul Ningi, Hon (Mrs) Margaret Icheen, among others.
