The existence and stability of NASA beyond the August polls, if it wins, depends on flagbearer Raila Odinga, analyst Amukowa Anangwe has said. Raila was named the NASA captain on April 27 at Uhuru Park. This could be avoided if Raila keeps his part of the bargain to be a one-term president and respects NASA’s coalition agreement on power-sharing, Anangwe said. He said Mudavadi and Kalonzo could break away to run against Raila if he dishonours the agreement after one term. In the NASA structure, Mudavadi will be the premier Cabinet Secretary, while Wetang’ula and Rutto will be his deputies.
