NASA spots Israeli spacecraft’s crash site on Moon

NASAтАЩs Moon orbiting spacecraft has spotted the impact site of the Israeli Beresheet spacecraft on a region of the Moon called тАЬSea of SerenityтАЭ where it crash landed on April 11. As soon as its orbit placed NASAтАЩs Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) over the landing site on April 22, LRO imaged BeresheetтАЩs impact site, NASA said in a statement on late Wednesday. ЁЯУ╕ Our @NASAMoon orbiter captured this visual of the lunar impact site from @TeamSpaceIL's Beresheet spacecraft. If you look close, there are also clues about a possible man-made crater on the Moon: https://t.co/WgYqoxEMhS pic.twitter.com/jxdr9VV8Lq тАФ NASA (@NASA) May 15, 2019LRO took the impact site image from 90 km above the surface. This is an important consideration, since the Moon, having no atmosphere, is constantly bombarded by space rocks that leave craters,тАЭ said NASA.
