NASA captured a rare space event Friday when Earth and the moon crossed in front of the sun. NASA’S Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the stunning double eclipse. The space agency said early Friday morning Earth completely eclipsed the sun from the satellite’s perspective just as the moon began its journey across the face of the sun. Observers can tell the Earth and the moon apart by their edges: Earth’s is fuzzy, while the moon’s is sharp and distinct. The video clip relased by NASA lasts 34 seconds.
