The rock is officially called 2014 MU69, but it has been given the nickname Ultima Thule. Ultima Thule should offer scientists some valuable data about the solar system. Early photos from the distant rock have suggested it has plenty of mysteries to reveal to us. It's thought that Ultima Thule is shaped like a peanut and could be the result of two objects colliding. It will take around 20 months for NASA to receive all the data New Horizons collects during this mission.
