Dr Opoku Prempeh made the appeal on Tuesday morning during a meeting with former NPP executives in Sunyani, stressing that the party needs its experienced members to play a decisive role at this critical stage. He used the occasion to make a strong case for Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as the most qualified, tested and well-positioned candidate among those contesting the flagbearership. He urged the former executives to give their support and votes to Dr Bawumia in the January 31, 2026, polls, noting that the vice president offers the party its best chance of progress and continuity. Dr Opoku Prempeh emphasised that while internal competition is expected, the party must ultimately close ranks behind a leader capable of uniting the NPP and leading it forward.
