NAB fails to probe multimillion Islamabad cultural complex corruption case

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) failed to probe into the multi-million-rupee scam of the Islamabad Cultural Complex (ICC) case. The matter was referred to NAB since December 2014 and it was expected to probe in since the PAC had sought enough evidence. In October 2015, the NAB initiated an investigation into the alleged wasteful expenditure of the Rs 1.1 billion cultural complex projects at Shakarparian on the recommendation of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). Over Rs 1.1 billion were announced for phase 1 with a facility to operate on self-financing. This meant that the initial cost of Rs 1.1 billion had shot up to Rs 1.85 billion.
