What has become a physical representation of national disdain for knowledge is the National Assembly library. Located just at the rear of the popular ‘White House’ building in the expansive National Assembly complex, the National Assembly library stands alone in a separate bungalow. The Library of Congress (LOC) is the research library that officially serves the United States and is the de facto national library of the United States. The library also administers the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, an audiobook and braille library programme provided to more than 766,000 Americans. Compared to the National Assembly Library in Abuja, the House of Commons Library is the library and information resource of the lower house of the British Parliament.
