The Mystics caused the upset of the season against the Pulse on Monday night, winning 60-54 in Auckland. It should have been plain sailing for the Pulse as they looked to tidy up their combinations for the Premiership final in Porirua in two weeks' time. After eight minutes the Mystics were up 13-8, with goal shoot Grace Nweke grabbing some superb passes from Tayla Earle over the head of Pulse goal keep Sulu Fitzpatrick. That excitement lifted the Mystics as they soon led 32-27, although the Pulse scored the last three goals of the half.
