The respiratory illness causes coughing, fever, sneezing, lethargy, and eye or nasal discharge, and often progresses to pneumonia. Ganzer has been treating the sick dogs with a combination of antibiotics and supplementary oxygen, but none of the dogs affected seem to be fully recovered. “As a dog lover, it really sucks because, to me, dogs don’t deserve to suffer like this,” said Sidney Klancir, a community member. With rising cases across multiple states, Needle and Ganzer are urging the public to take precautions. It’s scary to think that antibiotics don’t work,” said Sage Collins, a community member.
