SEREMBAN: A 41-year-old Myanmar national has been charged at the Magistrate’s Court here with the murder of a female compatriot. No plea was recorded from Win Htike after the charge was read to him before Magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rosli on Thursday (April 9) as murder cases are under the purview of the High Court. Win was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder which carries the death penalty, or 30 to 40 years' jail and caning, upon conviction. Magistrate Nurul Saqinah then fixed May 13 for next mention and denied bail to the accused. It was earlier reported that a Myanmar national had slashed a woman's neck at workers' quarters in Nilai.
